This site at Faha East, Killarney, was trenched due to the scale of the development. It was not in the immediate vicinity of any archaeological site. The closest SMR was KE057–069, a ringfort, which was some distance to the north-west. At the time of testing the site was under rough pasture and sloped from a high at south to north. Seven trenches were dug, all of which measured 1m in width, 20–60m in length and had an average depth of 0.3m. The topsoil, a mid-brown silty loam, was 0.2m in depth and the natural parent material, a reddish-brown silty clay, was dug to 0.1m in depth. No archaeological features or artefacts were recovered during the testing.
