Pre-development testing as part of an impact assessment was undertaken at the site of a proposed single-house development at Clahane, Ballyard, Tralee, in September 2007. The north-west corner of the proposed development site was located within the zone of archaeological potential for an enclosure, KE038–013.
Four test-trenches, set 10m apart, were excavated across the proposed development site. They measured 15–70m long by 1.5m wide and 0.25–1m deep. The areas of the garage and house platform, including footpaths, percolation area and an extensive driveway, were tested. No archaeological features were recorded.
