Testing of a proposed development site at Churchground, Kilgarvan, Co. Kerry, was undertaken in July 2007. The development consisted of an application for outline planning permission to construct 106 houses, 54 domestic garages and a crèche and an application for full planning permission for fourteen houses and twelve apartments. The proposed development site is not near any known monuments. A total of 22 test-trenches were excavated on the site and no archaeological finds, features or deposits were uncovered.
