This development is within the zone of potential of Ballybunion Castle and on the site of a now demolished Church of Ireland church. Test-trenching was carried out prior to an apartment development. A series of trenches were subsequently excavated by mechanical digger across the site. The foundations of the church were found but no burials or earlier fabric or material was uncovered.
