Pre-development testing was undertaken at the site of a proposed slatted shed at Rahard on the outskirts of Athenry, Co. Galway. The development site is located in the vicinity of a ringfort site (GA084–117). Two trenches excavated as part of the testing revealed no features of archaeological significance. The stratigraphy consisted of sod and topsoil overlying subsoil which overlay a natural sandy gravel.
