Pre-development testing and subsequent monitoring was undertaken at the site of a proposed dwelling house at Court Lane, Athenry. The development site is within the medieval town and adjacent to the castle, abbey and church. Two trenches excavated as part of the testing and monitoring of ground disturbance revealed no features of archaeological significance.
