Monitoring of groundworks was undertaken in August 2007 in advance of the proposed development of lands at Ratoran, Tempo, Co. Fermanagh. A single-storey dwelling was to be built, with a floor area of c. 150m square. Additionally, an underground septic tank was to be installed south-east of the main property, with waste pipes laid from the property to this tank and an effluent pipe from the tank to a tributary of the River Tempo to the south of the proposed development. A rath (FER212–009) was located to the west and a group of standing stones (FER212–010) to the south-east. In general the stratigraphic sequence of the site was characterised by topsoil up to 0.4m deep immediately overlying subsoil. Nothing of archaeological interest was found.
