Testing, on the basis of geophysical survey (D. Enright and D. Harrison, 07R0012), followed by the monitoring of topsoil-stripping, was undertaken in advance of the construction of the Eastlands Consolidation Compound. The c. 9.45ha development site is located north of the Cuckoo Stream, east of Dublin Airport and west of the M1 and Airport Road. Prior to development it was a ‘greenfield’ site, consisting of four fields with intervening field boundaries. A field boundary survey of all boundaries within the development yielded no striking revelations.
No significant archaeology was identified.
