Monitoring took place of groundworks during the renovations and redevelopment of a mid-19th-century RC church into a library for Fingal County Council. The limestone foundations of an earlier chapel built in 1760 were located, as were the remains of alterations to that building undertaken in 1833. Two unmarked vaulted tombs were uncovered, possibly containing the remains of mid- to late 19th-century parish priests. External features were exposed including cobbled surfaces, curtilage walls, and 19th–20th-century rubbish pits. The walls of the 1760–1833 church have been preserved in situ below the new concrete floor; they have been protected by geotextile membrane, aeroboard and 804 hardcore. The monitoring and historical research is ongoing in 2008.
