An assessment by means of test-trenching was conducted at Kilgobbin, Stepaside, Co. Dublin, between 19 and 22 June 2007. The proposed development was located within the zone of archaeological potential associated with DU025–017, Kilgobbin Castle. A metal-detection survey of the excavated soil was also undertaken on the site. Fifteen test-trenches were excavated at the location of the proposed development. No archaeological features were discovered during the assessment.
