Excavation and monitoring were undertaken in conjunction with the redevelopment of the old Wax Museum site at the corner of Granby Row and Dorset Street, Dublin 1 (see Excavations 2005, No. 435; Excavations 2006, No. 612). Following on from this, in 2007, planning permission for an extension of the new building was approved. The site of the extension was located in an open yard to the rear of Nos 4–5 Granby Row, both of which comprise the northernmost buildings of an original Georgian terrace which extends south along Granby Row. The basement was not extended into this area and a minimum impact foundation solution combining piles and ground beams was utilised. Groundworks associated with this extension were monitored.
No further archaeological deposits or features were identified.
