During February 2007 a number of trial-trenches, totalling 120m2, were excavated across a possible enclosure, DOW046–025, before construction of an electricity pylon. The site was located on an area of low-lying ground close to the Newry River.
There was no evidence for the presence of the enclosure. A number of cultivation furrows, a probable field boundary, 1m wide and 0.2m deep, and two shallow pits were revealed, but these features appear to be post-medieval.
