Eight test-trenches were opened on the site of an extension to an existing housing estate on the outskirts of Bridgend village. The nearest archaeological monument, a ringfort, was sited c. 600m to the east of the development site. Parts of the site had been stripped of topsoil by the building works associated with the existing housing estate. No archaeological features or remains were uncovered in any of the test-trenches.
