Monitoring was carried out at Ballymacool, Letterkenny, Co. Donegal, between 2 August and 13 September 2007. This was a component of the larger overall scheme to construct 571 residential units, with an 8.09ha park, a crèche, a health centre, three commercial units, site reservation for a future school, associated site and infrastructural works. This monitoring phase was concerned with the creation of a civic park and walking paths. The development lands contain a number of monuments and consequently were considered to be of high archaeological potential. Monitoring of topsoil-stripping was undertaken throughout the entire project. No archaeological material was noted.
