Testing was undertaken in accordance with a condition of planning permission. The proposed development site is within the zone of archaeological potential for CO026–131, a country house, and CO026–11, a tower-house. A modern derelict dwelling lies between the site and the country house. This derelict dwelling obscures the view of the country house from the public road to the south. The tower-house lies to the north-west of the proposed development site. No archaeological finds or features were encountered.
