Test-trenching was carried out at a proposed residential development site located in farmland on the outskirts of the south-western suburbs of Youghal. Areas of the site had been cleared of topsoil prior to testing and the exposed subsoil was inspected. There were twenty test-trenches excavated in the undisturbed areas of the development site and no archaeological features or finds were uncovered.
