The proposed development site is within the zone of archaeological potential for CO022–114(01–04), a fulachta fiadh, at Kilnahulla More, Knocklagh. Testing was undertaken in accordance with a condition of planning permission. An archaeological feature was encountered at the southern boundary of the proposed development site in Trench 1. This feature was located 7.5m from the western edge of the trench and comprised an irregular-shaped deposit of heat-affected angular to sub-angular limestone rocks. The feature measured 2m north–south by 0.65–1m. Its maximum depth was 0.1m. No finds were recovered and there was no evidence of in situ burning. The feature was excavated in its entirety.
