Pre-development testing was carried out at the site of the new County Library headquarters on the Carrigrohane Road in Cork city. The new library will be constructed to the west of the existing County Hall. Four test-trenches were placed across the footprint of the proposed building and no features or finds of archaeological significance were uncovered. The excavation revealed multiple layers of modern infill material reaching a depth of almost 1.5m and all of the recovered material was 20th-century in date.
