The proposed development at Coolmona, Donoughmore, consisted of the construction of a single-storey dwelling house incorporating the ruin of a church. An assessment including testing was carried out as a further information request. The church building within the development area is neither a recorded monument nor a protected structure. It is likely to be early to mid-19th-century in date and continued in use for up to 100 years until it was deconsecrated in 1960. A significant quantity of cut architectural stone originally associated with and probably incorporated into the church structure was uncovered in Trench 3 and in the southern end of Trench 2. It was recommended that the stone be reused in the building where possible. No further archaeological finds or features were uncovered.
