Further development is proposed at a site in Dunderrow, Kinsale, Co. Cork, which is part of the industrial complex (c. 107 acres) owned by Eli Lilly SA. It is proposed to construct a three-storey pharmaceutical IE42 biotech manufacturing facility within the existing Eli Lilly factory complex. The development site consists of a low-lying field in rough pasture that slopes gradually downwards from north to south. It was covered with several metres of subsoil overburden. This overburden was deposited directly on the existing sod and topsoil. It was removed to the top of the old ground surface prior to testing. Six test-trenches were excavated at the development site. No archaeological artefacts were noted in the test-trenches.
