Four test-trenches were excavated at a proposed development site at Ballintotis, Farrantrechard. The site comprises a derelict cottage on an acre and extends north by 3.1m into an adjoining graveyard. There are no burials in this area of the graveyard and it is locally known that no burials ever took place there. Test-trenching confirmed this. The test-trenches excavated in the area of the cottage suggest that it has been used as a dump in recent years. There were no archaeological features or finds uncovered in any of the test-trenches excavated within the proposed development site.
