Testing was undertaken as part of a site assessment in respect of an extension to an industrial unit, which is located within the zone of archaeological potential for a ringfort. This site was extant in 2001 and had been subsequently levelled when the site was assessed in 2007. A 25m buffer zone was established around the map location of the monument and four trenches were dug by machine outside this area to the south and east, measuring 10–20m in length, 1.5m in width with an average depth of 0.45m. Trench 2 revealed evidence of a burnt mound. The trench was then extended to identify the full extent of the feature. No further archaeological features or artefacts were identified. The burnt mound was subsequently excavated by Tempus Archaeology (see No. 190 below).
