A ring-barrow (CL016–037) is located to the north of the proposed site. An ancient roadway (CL016–121) runs along the southern end of the site. The Leamaneh Castle complex (CL016–032) is located c. 850m north-west of the site. A desk-based study and monitoring were carried out in advance of afforestation of lands at Leamaneh North. No archaeological deposits were encountered during these excavations.
