Monitoring of groundworks at Westpark, Shannon, Co. Clare, were carried out intermittently from January 2005 to April 2007. The site is located between Shannon Airport and Shannon town. The development involves the construction of seven three-storey over lower ground-floor-level buildings as well as a five-storey carpark and surface parking. The monitoring of topsoil-stripping associated with the construction of Buildings 2, 3, 4 and 7, as well as access roads, was undertaken during this time. Nothing of archaeological significance was discovered as a result of this phase of the works.
