Testing was carried out over the course of one day in advance of the construction of a funeral home and overhead apartments on a site in Carlow. Three trenches were enacted, which showed the site had been extensively disturbed in recent times due to the placement of large underground fuel storage tanks in connection with a petrol station which was previously located on the site. Planning conditions called for further monitoring of the site after testing was complete. This was carried out over the entire site but did not uncover any features of interest.
