Monitoring and testing was undertaken between July 2005 and March 2007 (see also Excavations 2006, No. 198) in response to a condition of planning permission by Carlow County Council for the construction of a housing development. Work revealed the presence of a number of post-medieval field boundaries and some pits of an unknown date, one of which included burnt bone. Post-excavation works are under way to determine their age.
