Monitoring was undertaken along a 1.5km route of a new wastewater pipeline running from an existing treatment works at Seagoe, near Portadown, to a new facility at Ballynacor. Numerous archaeological deposits were uncovered along the investigation portion of the pipeline route, consisting mainly of small pits and hearths. One probable structure was uncovered. This consisted of two subsoil-cut slots defining a circular area some 7.5m wide internally. No internal features were found within the structure. The only datable artefacts were two sherds of probable everted-rim pottery found pressed into the subsoil just over 1.5m south of the structure. Further post-excavation analysis, including radiocarbon dating, will be required to provide a definite date for the structure.
