It is proposed to construct a residential dwelling at the junction of Upper Lisdrumchor Road and Mowhan Road, Glenanne, Co. Armagh. As part of an archaeological evaluation of the site, topsoil removal was conducted under supervision. This revealed that the eastern half of the site had been heavily altered in an attempt to improve the ground for pasture. The underlying natural clay of the low hill in the south-east corner of the site had been used to fill in the adjacent hollow and modern drains were uncovered throughout the site. No archaeological activity was uncovered during monitoring and, given the level of disturbance in certain areas within the site, it is highly unlikely that anything archaeological survives within the proposed development’s boundary.
