This year saw the closing season of the excavation and restoration of the Lisburn Castle Gardens project. The final stages of the watching brief involved working with engineers, members of local authorities, NIEA (Built Heritage) and builders to sympathetically restore the 17th-century castle gardens complex.

The completion of works at Lisburn Castle Gardens was realised in the late summer of 2007. For further information on the excavations and restorations, see Excavations 2006, No. 99 (AE/06/101).
