It is proposed to construct a residential development at 48–51 Tobar Park, Cullybackey, Co. Antrim. Ten test-trenches were excavated across the site to evaluate its archaeological potential. This revealed that the southern edge of the site, the area closest to the new houses, had been disturbed in the past, as there was no topsoil, only a thin covering of vegetation over the natural boulder clay. In addition, there was no indication of a purported souterrain, ANT032–040, in this area. Given the level of disturbance in the immediate vicinity of this archaeological site, it is unlikely that the souterrain has survived. Nor was anything of archaeological significance found during this evaluation.
