It is proposed to construct two retail units, with storage areas and four apartments above, on land at 7–9 Quay Road, Ballycastle. An archaeologist was present during the excavation of the foundations for this building. The area of development had been artificially raised in the past, as there was a distinct layer of redeposited orange clay mixed with building rubble to an average depth of 1.5m. The evaluation revealed no evidence of archaeological deposits within these foundations.
