Monitoring work was carried out over the course of three days using two track machines with a 2m-wide flat toothless bucket over the entire development area. Several areas of modern burning were identified and several field drains were also noted. The ground appears to have been heavily disturbed in recent times, due to the site being used within living memory for cattle markets and as the grounds for Duffy’s Circus, which occupied the site on an annual basis. During the course of this monitoring activity, nothing of an archaeological nature was encountered.
