This site, in Ballyrogan Lower, c. 8.5km north-east of Arklow town in Co. Wicklow, was comprised of several linear features and a single deposit. The archaeological investigation was undertaken in June and July 2006 on behalf of the National Roads Authority on the route of the N11 Rathnew to Arklow road improvement.
The site is contained within 20m by 20m. Two parallel furrows, aligned north-north-west/south-south-east and c. 1.9m apart, were located in the centre of the site. A shallow linear feature, interpreted as a ditch, was identified between the furrows. All these linear features were shallow and extended beyond the northern and southern limits of the excavation. A small shallow deposit of silty clay with charcoal inclusions was identified in the centre of the site. It is suggested that this feature may comprise the heavily truncated remnants of a pit. No artefacts were recovered from the site.
