This site, c. 3.5km south-west of Wicklow town, comprised the remains of burnt-mound activity. The archaeological investigation was undertaken in February 2006 on behalf of the National Roads Authority on the route of the N11 Rathnew to Arklow road improvement. The site is c. 800m east of WI031–002 (01, 02), a moated castle known as McDermot’s Castle.
The site measured 20m by 20m. The site comprised the remnants of a heavily disturbed and truncated burnt spread.
