This site was one of twenty excavated in Toar Bog, Co. Westmeath, as part of the 2006 Bord na Móna archaeological mitigation programme. Five sites had previously been excavated by the author in 2005 (see No. 2042 above). This site was identified in 2000 as worked wood in situ consisting of a dispersed deposit of twelve pieces of brushwood and four roundwoods in opposing drain faces (WM-PBY036). A 2m by 2m cutting was excavated, which revealed eleven pieces of brushwood. The elements were sparsely arranged and had no apparent orientation or function. They ranged in size from 0.02m to 0.04m in diameter and 0.15m to 0.38m in length.
