This site was one of twenty excavated in Toar Bog, Co. Westmeath, as part of the 2006 Bord na Móna archaeological mitigation programme. Five sites had previously been excavated by the author in 2005 (see No. 2042 above). This site was identified in 2000 as a deposit of brushwood, twigs and a roundwood in the drain face (WM-KVY066). The excavation of a 3m by 1m cutting placed at the drain edge revealed a sparse arrangement of wood with no apparent orientation of function contained within an area measuring 1m by 2.8m in size.
