This site was one of twenty excavated in Toar Bog, Co. Westmeath, as part of the 2006 Bord na Móna archaeological mitigation programme. Five sites had previously been excavated by the author in 2005 (see No. 2042, Excavations 2006). A single cutting was excavated, encompassing four sites originally identified as worked and unworked wood in situ that were in close proximity (WM-KVY059–062), to investigate their relationship. It was determined that these sites were all part of a single possible brushwood platform measuring 2m by 5m. The structure was several layers of brushwood and roundwood deep and measured 0.04–0.18m in depth. The elements varied in diameter from 0.01 to 0.03m.
