Excavation was conducted in advance of the East Waterford water pipeline construction from Ballyshonock reservoir to the River Mahon. Testing in 2006 under licence 06E0163 (see No. 2002, Excavations 2006) identified a burnt spread. Excavation revealed a spread truncated by a field drain. On one side the spread was 3.4m by 2.8m in width and on the other it was 1.8m by 1.1m in width. A layer of charcoal-flecked clay was sealed beneath the spreads. There was no associated trough.
