Excavation was conducted in advance of the East Waterford water pipeline construction from Ballyshonock reservoir to the River Mahon. Testing in 2006 under licence 06E0163 (see No. 2002 below) identified a burnt spread. Excavation revealed it to be a spread of charcoal with small pebbles. Although there was no evidence of burning in situ, it was probably related to a nearby burning event and dumped afterwards.
