Excavation was conducted in advance of the East Waterford water pipeline construction from Ballyshonock reservoir to the River Mahon. Testing in 2006 under licence 06E0163 (see No. 2002, Excavations 2006) identified a burnt spread. Excavation revealed it to be a spread of charcoal with small pebbles. Although there was no evidence of burning in situ, it was probably related to a nearby burning event and dumped afterwards.
