Trial-trenching was carried out in June 2006 on the line of the upgraded A4 between 27007 36013 and 27062 36042. Three areas were stripped in June 2006 around possible archaeological features identified in the evaluation, centred on 27016 36016, 27026 36023 and 27036 36032. The only feature of archaeological interest was a corn-drying kiln at 27014 36014.
