An oval pit was uncovered c. 20m south-east of the rath at Sullenboy, Westland Road, Cookstown. The pit was oriented north-east/south-west and measured 1.45m by 1.2m by 0.65m deep. It was filled with a grey silty sand with occasional charcoal flecking below a brown sandy clay which in turn was overlain by another charcoal-flecked grey silty sand. The pit had steep, almost vertical, sides with a shallow ledge on the southern end and a round base. No datable finds were recovered.
