An archaeological evaluation was required in advance of the construction of a private dwelling. The site is located in an area with a high concentration of archaeological monuments including megalithic tombs, standing stones, stone alignments, stone circles and cairns.
Four test-trenches were excavated within the site boundary. Two trenches measured 20m by 2m each, one measured 25m by 2m and the fourth trench measured 35m by 2m. The tracks of plough furrows were found cut into the subsoil across much of the site as well as modern drains containing corrugated plastic piping. However, nothing of archaeological significance was uncovered in any of the trenches.
