An archaeological evaluation was required in advance of the construction of a private dwelling. The site is located in an area with a high concentration of archaeological monuments, including megalithic tombs, standing stones, stone alignments, stone circles and cairns. The closest known monument was a burnt mound (TYR020–062), located 350m to the west of the proposed development.
Three test-trenches were excavated across the proposed development site. Two trenches measured 50m by 2m each and the third measured 80m by 2m. Nothing of archaeological significance was uncovered in any of the trenches.
