This site was initially identified during test excavation carried out in August 2005 along the N8 Cashel to Mitchelstown road improvement scheme. The site was subsequently excavated between 26 May and 2 June 2006. The site yielded evidence for burial in the form of three cremation pits. One of these pits yielded an inverted urn vessel, the rim and shoulder of which survived. The cremation pits were clustered close together in an area c. 2m2. Pits and post-holes were recorded in association with this feature. Elements of a possible semicircular line of post-holes were recorded c. 8m to the north of the cremation pits, although it is unclear if this is some form of structure. A number of samples have been selected for charcoal and macro plant analysis.
