An archaeological excavation took place in October 2006 in advance of the construction of the M8/N8 Cullahill to Cashel road improvement scheme. Prior assessment and centreline test-trenching was carried out in 2006 (see No. 1865 above, E2395). An area of 400m2 was opened around a possible hearth revealed in testing. This possible hearth was orientated north–south, was kidney-shaped and measured 1.85m by 0.97m maximum and had a maximum depth of 0.18m. It had an uneven base frequented by medium and large stones and it contained four fills. No finds were recorded from this possible hearth, with no additional features recorded in proximity to it.
