Planning permission for a bungalow extension at Knockanglass, The Commons, Co. Tipperary, included a condition requiring testing. The site is located immediately to the north of a possible enclosure site. This enclosure is not marked on the 1840 6-inch OS map but is indicated on the 1905 edition. There are now no surface traces of the feature, the site of which is occupied by a cattle-pen.
Two trenches were excavated by machine fitted with a toothless bucket, following which the sides and bases were cleaned by hand and examined. Nothing of archaeological interest or potential was uncovered during the course of testing.
