Trial excavations were undertaken to the north of Glenahilty Castle, Nenagh, in July 2006 in advance of the construction of two slatted units. The development was within the archaeological constraint around the castle (TI015–090). The tower-house had been modified in the past, had been used as a dwelling until the 1980s and is now in ruins. The area around the castle has been severely disturbed due to farming activities over the years.

The site of the development was in an area where groundworks had taken place in recent years. As a result, the area was severely disturbed and nothing of archaeological significance was recorded.
