Testing was undertaken on a vacant plot off Watergate Street, Fethard. Works were undertaken as part of the planning process to build three dwelling houses on the site. The site is located 4m outside the south circuit of the medieval town wall. A total of seven test-trenches were opened, with particular emphasis on finding any remains of an extra-mural town ditch. No archaeological features were uncovered. One feature was revealed during testing, which proved to be a late post-medieval/modern field drain.
