Excavation of this site was undertaken in July and August 2006 in advance of the proposed M8/N8 Cullahill to Cashel road improvement scheme. The site lies in pastureland, 150m to south-east of a ruined tower-house (TI042–013(05)). Prior assessment and centreline test-trenching was carried out in 2005 (Excavations 2005, No. 1388, A027/011). This revealed a shallow deposit of burnt material (1m by 0.8m and 0.2m in depth) and a shallow pit (1.5m by 0.6m by 0.17m in depth), which contained burnt stones. Both features were fully resolved at this time. Excavations were carried out in July 2006 but no further features of archaeological interest were revealed.
